ACID PROTECT® Horse:
For stomach problems in horses

HomeAll ProductsHorse supplementsACID PROTECT® Horse:For stomach problems in horses

Mineral supplement feed for horses with high gastric acidity.

  • High buffering capacity
  • For gastric acidity
  • Regeneration of the stomach lining

Acid Protect® neutralises and buffers excess stomach acid. In addition, the stomach lining is rebuilt and protected from renewed attacks. Performance horses often suffer from stomach ulcers. There can be various reasons for this, such as feeding breaks of over 6 hours, rations high in concentrates and low in roughage, stabling, stress or increased pressure in the stomach due to training. Horses often react to this with a change in appetite, a change in temperament or a dull coat, and in severe cases even colic.

Acid Protect® is an alternative to support horses with stomach acidity.

The mineral compounds contained in Acid Protect®, such as magnesium oxide and dicalcium phosphate, have a high acid neutralisation potential. The psyllium contained in Acid Protect® promotes intestinal motility. During digestion, marshmallow releases a mucilaginous layer that adheres to the horse’s intestinal wall. Antioxidants generally promote regeneration processes and support the body’s defences. Acid Protect® is also suitable for foals.

HOW TO FEED NUTRILABS

Feeding recommendation

It is recommended to feed the product for at least 3 months – if necessary also long-term: this is to be decided individually according to the animal’s reaction. Due to the higher content of bentonite and zinc compared to complete feeds, the specified feeding instructions must not be exceeded. The simultaneous oral administration of macrolide antibiotics should be avoided.
Pellets

Mix well into the feed, divided evenly over all feedings of the day. HORSES: 1st – 2nd week: 4 scoops per day (approx. 268 grams) 3rd week: 3 scoops per day (approx. 201 grams) From 4th week: 1-1.5 scoops per day (approx. 67-101 grams) FOALS and PONIES: 1st – 2nd week: 2 scoops per day (approx. 134 grams) 3rd week: 1.5 scoops per day (approx. 101 grams) From 4th week: 0.5-1 scoop per day (approx. 34-67 grams)

Physiological consequence
A system never works alone! So if it performs better after successfully helping with a problem, the related systems are also put under more strain. Only comprehensive support brings lasting success. The focus of the Nutrilabs product formulation is on physiological consistency. Each product is designed not only to address the core problem, but also to support all associated metabolic systems and organs. Since metabolic processes always affect several systems simultaneously, it is essential to consider all organs and processes involved. To achieve lasting effects, not only specific areas but also the associated systems must be supported. That is why the formulations of Nutrilabs products are designed as comprehensive complete formulas and the ingredients focus not only on the core problem but also on the related systems.
